Thanks for the tip...I am a big Stella fan (even had a cat named after the song)...always looking for that version that includes an inspired Jerry vocal, especially the critical "I've stayed in every blue light cheap hotel" section...any other suggestions from the folks out there?

also, one quibble i've had w/the tune over the years; wondering if anyone else agrees: I think the song is so beautiful, so heartfelt and profound, that I can't stand it when the last fading notes suddenly erupt into a "Round and Round", "Truckin'", or some other Bobby type rocker.

I know in the early days there were many stand alone versions, but I find they lack the power and majesty of many of the later years versions. So i'm kind of between a rock and a hard place on STELLA. I want a version that I can listen to completely, without the jarring interruption that cuts it off to go into a Chuck berry tune.

So i'm probably asking a lot but if anyone can point me to a version that meets this criteria I would be most grateful, as always.

Searching for the ever elusive Stella...
It's next to impossible to find any 'developed' version that doesn't come with a Bobby rocker coming on its' heels, this is true. It would be great to find that stand-alone, kick-ass version but so far he's some others:
11-04-77 Cotterrell Gym (Playin'in the Band follows)
10-21-78 Winterland (Sugar Magnolia follows)
10-25-79 Vets New Haven (Good Lovin' follows)
10-02-80 Warfield (Sugar Magnolia follows)
05-23-82 Greek Theater (I Need A Miracle follows)
09-11-82 West Palm Beach (Aroundx2 follows)
03-18-88 Kaiser (Throwing Stones follows)
10-26-89 Miami (Not Fade Away follows)

and then there's always Standing On The Moon...

Wicked Stella Blue?

Check out 09-16-78, Giza, Egypt, set II. Nicely developed, but Bobby rocker afterwards, Sorry.
